Our Uniform

Uniform for all students from 2023

Our new uniform supplier is Mainland Uniforms, Wairakei Road (and online). They are currently sorting the stock ex The Warehouse and will have it available for sale from 4 January 2023. There are new items that are able to be worn with the existing uniform items. There are also some brand new gym frocks available from the school office for $85. These are able to be worn in 2023 & 2024.

Rationale for school uniform

  • Gives a level playing field, reducing the competition between students over clothing and thereby may reduce costs
  • Ensures a suitable minimum standard of clothing for our school community, for pride in presentation, comfort and hygiene
  • Lets us see clearly who are our students
  • Offers a positive representation of our school in our community
  • Is relatable to workplace expectations of dressing for work

Uniform Regulations

  • Personal effects should be hygienic, safe, and inoffensive (health and safety rules apply)
  • Socks plain black above shoeline
  • Thermals are okay so long as not visible
  • Shoes plain black 
  • Plain navy cap or bucket hat for the sun / plain black beanie for cold
  • Tie optional but required to be bought if representing the school
  • DHS skort, skirt, shorts, or trousers
  • DHS shirt (options available)
  • DHS hoodie/jersey
  • Years 10 – 13 DHS blazer optional but required if representing the school (can be hired)
  • DHS outer jacket (Macpac softshell or puffer with DHS crest)
  • Sports socks
  • Plain black shorts
  • DHS PE T-shirt
